I generally prefer sticks on the Datejust, because I don’t love the Roman font used. But I do love the deconstructed Romans on the Day-Date, which are interspersed with sticks. If I were to get a Day-Date, I would prefer a bit more contrast, so I’d go for a pristine and glossy white dial. And now that Rolex has brought the deconstructed Roman numerals from the 40mm Day-Date to the 36mm models, I think my favorite version is finally here.
I wasn't aware of different font sizes for the Romans on 218238. If you can get a closer picture of another 218238 with a different dial color, then you can compare.
