I have disassembled the Omega trigger assembly’s many times. It’s not at all hard but there are a few small tricks to make it easier. Before you start just get a good look and understanding of what goes where. Maybe even take a few photos before you start. Remove the entire assembly from the barrel (the two blue pins in the attached diagram).
One nice thing about the Omega (s) is it has a consistent head space. If one uses Winchester W209 primers that measure 0.302" or longer one gets zero blow by in any Omega. Breech plugs can be interchanged between Omega rifles. Ninering62, michiganmuzzy and 45-70. Lol. I was just generally speaking that I'm still curious what it could be valued at. As above, used X7s are on GB once in a blue moon and generally go for low 0s. A new, unshot, X7 with a possibly one of a kind laminate stock, it's hard to guess. From my reading this forum, other gun trading forums and reviews. when the model was in production that it was and still is highly rated as a durable and accurate muzzleloader. It seems that while offered there certainly were many sold as . Out of all the TC Muzzleloaders I have used the Omega remains my favorite. This I don't understand, The 1/20 is a much better twist for shooting bullets. I have 2 of the 700ML with hunter kits at 1/28 and 2 other rifles at 1/20. The 1/28 is OK with bullets up to 225 grains but they cannot stabilize the heavier bullets. Oct 5, 2017. #4. I have an Omega X7 and a "Bestill" Omega. The Bestill model is in a Boyds TH stock and I had to modify the stock to be able to cock the hammer. The hammer goes back into a channel and is difficult for me to cock and uncock safely. I shaved the area to the right of the channel down to allow easy and safe manipulation of the hammer. Thompson center omega 50 caliber in great condition. There is no action as you can see. It’s not available it was used in another build. This comes with ram rod, breach plug, leupold scope base and rings with bushnell banner scope 1-4 power. Barrel has fiber optic sights. Gun was in really nice shape.
